A Lakeside Retreat to Rejuvenate Body and Mind with Natural Hot Springs and Saunas

Lakeside Terrace Biwako offers 18 guest rooms in total, divided into three distinct types to suit different travel purposes: glamping tents, luxury cottages, and spa suites. Each type has its own unique charm, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of experiences while sharing the same beautiful lakeside location.

This time, we’ll introduce the Spa Suites. Each suite is equipped with a private natural hot spring bath and sauna—perfect for those who want to refresh both body and soul and spend a relaxing stay.
Why not take a revitalizing trip with your family or close friends to heal your heart and body?

Three Types of Spa Suites — 5 Rooms Total

All feature private natural hot springs & saunas!

There are three types of Spa Suites, each with a private hot spring and sauna, making up a total of five rooms.

1. Lake View Standard

The bedroom is furnished with two semi-double beds, and the 6-tatami mat Japanese-style room is equipped with three sets of futons, accommodating up to five guests.

With a spacious Japanese-style room in addition to the bedroom, this room is ideal for three-generation family trips where grandparents can join in the fun.

2. Deluxe Spa Suite

The bedroom is furnished with two semi-double beds, and the 4.5-tatami mat Japanese-style room is equipped with two sets of futons, accommodating up to four guests.

The highlight of this room is its deluxe bath—a large tub that can comfortably fit 4–5 people at once, making it perfect for families to bathe together. Since it’s a private hot spring, you don’t have to worry about prying eyes. You might even be able to take a little swim!

3. Theater Standard

The bedroom is furnished with two semi-double beds, and the 4.5-tatami mat Japanese-style room is equipped with two sets of futons, accommodating up to four guests.

This room features a spacious terrace with an outdoor projector—ideal for trips with close friends or a girls’ getaway. Enjoy chatting on the terrace after arrival and watch a movie in your private theater at night. This room is perfect for those who want to enjoy everything to the fullest.

Relax and Heal in a Glamorous Space

No matter which room you stay in, the highlight is definitely the natural hot spring & sauna.

The bathrooms feature large windows that create a feeling of openness, letting you enjoy bath time as if you were in an open-air bath. You can even open the windows during pleasant seasons to feel the breeze while taking a long soak.

Experience Löyly in the Sauna

Löyly is a Finnish-style sauna experience where water is poured over heated sauna stones to create steam. It’s said to be less harsh on the skin and less suffocating than typical saunas, making it easier for sauna beginners to enjoy.

On the hotel’s deck, there’s a barrel sauna where you can detox while gazing out over Lake Biwa. Sauna enthusiasts should definitely give this a try!

Enjoy a BBQ Dinner Outdoors

For meals, head to the semi-outdoor living area for a BBQ.
This space offers a great outdoor atmosphere, making you feel like you’re camping or glamping as everyone gathers together for a lively evening.

Accommodation plans include a room-only option, and bringing your own BBQ ingredients is allowed.
If you want to enjoy local flavors, try the “Biwako Glamping BBQ,” featuring local specialties such as Omi beef, Baumkuchen pork with colorful vegetables, Takashima’s famous “Tonchan-yaki,” and herb-grilled Biwa trout.

Rooms are equipped with a refrigerator, IH kitchen, electric kettle, glasses, plates, and cutlery for your convenience. BBQ grills are free to use with the meal plan, and available for rent (for a fee) with the room-only plan.

Well-Stocked Amenities — Pick Up What You Need at the Front Desk

Each room comes with face towels, bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. At the amenity corner next to the front desk, you can pick up additional amenities such as room wear, soap, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, razors, and ladies’ sets. Please make use of these during your stay.
