For an Outdoor Adventure, Head to the Glamping Zone!
In addition to its prime location overlooking the magnificent Lake Biwa, Lakeside Terrace Biwako offers three types of guest rooms to suit different travel purposes. The 18 rooms are divided into Glamping Tents, Luxury Cottages, and Spa Suites, and all are equipped with natural hot spring baths.
Whether you want to “experience glamping by Lake Biwa,” “relax and heal your body in a hot spring and sauna,” or “enjoy a resort-like atmosphere,” this facility can meet a wide variety of travel needs. If you’re visiting in a large group, it’s also recommended to book different room types based on how you want to spend your time.
Naturally, you may be wondering what the atmosphere of each room is like, what facilities are available, and how you can spend your time there.
This time, let us introduce you to the dome tents and original square safari tents, where you can fully enjoy the fun of glamping.
Packed with Outdoor Vibes! Two Unique Tent Types

In the Glamping Area, there are a total of 10 tents:
3 circular dome tents, and
7 original square safari tents.

The dome tents, with a diameter of 7 meters, offer spacious interiors equipped with two single beds. By adding mattresses, up to five guests can stay in one tent. The transparent skeleton structure lets natural light pour in like a large window, creating a bright and open space. The interior combines beds and sofas to give a luxurious yet outdoorsy atmosphere unique to dome tents—perfect for a real camping experience.

The square safari tents measure 6.3 m × 6.3 m and are a rare tent type making their first appearance in Shiga Prefecture. Each tent is equipped with four single beds, accommodating up to four guests.

Inside, the wooden warmth combined with stylish furniture and décor creates a photogenic space that’s perfect for group getaways or girls’ trips.
BBQ Space Included — Enhance Your Outdoor Experience!

When it comes to the outdoors, nothing beats enjoying a BBQ surrounded by nature!
Each guest room has its own dining space where everyone can gather and enjoy a lively BBQ. You can choose a meal plan to savor the Lake Biwa Glamping BBQ, featuring plenty of local ingredients, or select a no-meal plan and bring your own food to enjoy a fun, self-arranged BBQ.
Each dining space comes equipped with a refrigerator, IH kitchen, electric kettle, and basic utensils such as disposable chopsticks, paper cups, plates, and cutlery. The BBQ grill is free to use with the meal plan; if you choose the no-meal plan, you can rent it for a fee.

Thanks to the roof and walls, you can comfortably enjoy BBQ even on rainy or windy days, or during the cold winter season. In spring and summer, open the doors to let in the breeze and enjoy your meal in a relaxed, open-air atmosphere.
The Ultimate Glamping Experience — Natural Hot Springs in Your Room

When people hear “glamping,” they often worry that the facilities might only include a shower and no bathtub—especially families with children or female travelers may be concerned about the quality of the bath and toilet facilities.

But no need to worry!
All rooms at Lakeside Terrace Biwako are equipped with natural hot spring baths. Both dome tents and safari tents feature private open-air hot spring baths with small gardens.
At night, you can gaze at the stars, and in the morning, listen to birdsong as you soak in the relaxing hot spring.
Well-Equipped Amenities — Pick Up What You Need at the Front Desk

Each room comes with face towels, bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap.
Additionally, at the amenities corner near the front desk, guests can freely pick up items such as pajamas, soap, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, razors, and ladies’ sets as needed. Please make use of this service during your stay.
Whether you’re traveling with family, enjoying a girls’ trip with close friends, or going on an outdoor adventure with a club or group, the Glamping Zone is the perfect accommodation option for a lively and memorable trip.
For those who want to fully enjoy the outdoors, we especially recommend spending time in the dome tents and safari tents while experiencing water activities on Lake Biwa.
